19-12-2011 The most beautifully sung "Choir of Angels"

The most beautifully sung

The time before Christmas is a very exciting in Strima. From 4 years in the week before Christmas Eve we select the winner of the contest for felt Christmas Tree decoration. This year the excitement reached its zenith.

The most beautifully sung

It began inconspicuously. As every year, we announced our contest in early November and we waited for the decorations. Weeks passed and ... nothing happened. At the time when our faith in success of the next edition of the contest began to break down courier company provided us the first "heap" of parcels. We quickly revived hope and in following days reinforced it by another parcels. Until the end of the competition we received nearly 100 works, which diversity and artistic level beat decorations from the previous editions. Congratulations and great thanks to all of you!

Already after the first look at this year decorations jury was aware that one award is not enough to at least partially thank the best participants. However, the winner can only be one. This year, the highest marks among all jury members gained "Choir of Angels" by Grazyna Borys. It's perfect work at the highest artistic level. We also appreciated quality of the materials from which the angels were created (e.g. georgette silk and habotai silk) and the diversity of techniques used by the author (e.g. nunofelt and cobweb). One of the three angels is on his way to Italy, where he will take honor place in the collection of angels, on a hill in the village of Pieve di Soligo. The remaining part of the choir will resound on our Christmas tree. We congratulate Mrs. Grazyna the Grand Prix of the 4th edition of the contest and reward her with Texi Classic steam station and a small additional surprise.

Excellent level of works convinced Strima CEO, Pawel Bronski to foundation of additional awards for the best participants. First prize went to Teresa Mikolajczyk, for his work "Reding elf". Colorful and fabulous decoration put us in a Christmas mood, and won for its author Texi Classic steam station.

The jury decided to grant three equal honor awards. First winner was Monika Kolosz-Perz, author of "Three teddy bears", technically precise work, which combines the subject of our competition with the highly anticipated Euro 2012. Karolina Kucewicz from Clothing School in Gorzow Wielkopolski has received another award. Her "Angel with trumpet carrot" bewitched us by great simplicity of form and combination of colors. The last award went to Paulina Banczerska for "Christmas choo-choo", colorful and shiny chain for Christmas tree, which charmed us with an original idea. Highlighted three person we reward with decoupage starter kit, consisting of three bowls - handicraft from the Lombok island in Indonesia, glue, varnish, paint, brush, napkins and instruction "step by step."

Awards-surprises will go to Agnieszka Skowronek, author of "The Nutcracker," which awakened in us the warm memories of fairy, children's chrismtas, and to Kinga Hruszka for "Gnomes feasting by the Christmas tree," work extremely precise and original.

We are also very happy by all decorations sent by students. We thank faithful participant of the contest Technical and Clothing Schools with Integration Classes from Bialystok and this year's debutants, Voivodeship Technical and Vocational Schools in Swiebodzin, National Art Schools of T. Makowski in Lodz, and Art Schools of C.K. Norwid in Lublin. Each of schools we send decoupage starter kit.

All prizes will send on Tuesday, December 20 in hopes of getting to their destination before Christmas.

Congratulations to all the authors and great thanks for the beautiful works. Their diversity, besides artistic level, was a most agreeable surprise to the jury during deliberations. In addition to angels, snowmen, Christmas trees and Santa Clauses we received the dwarves, reindeers, bears, ballerinas, bells, gifts, mouse, and even a nutcracker.

Feel invited to watch the competition works in our photo gallery and video from dressing a Christmas tree.
