Strima at the Grand Finale of the Nationwide Fashion Design Competition “In a Dress to Success”

On Thursday, May 29, the stage of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Białystok transformed into a runway filled with creativity, youthful passion, and artistic courage. The grand finale of the nationwide fashion competition “In a Dress to Success,” organized by the Stanisław Staszic Technical and General Education School Complex with Integration Departments in Białystok, brought together young designers from across Poland, as well as representatives from the fashion industry, education, and business.

The aim of the competition was to provide a platform for secondary school students to showcase their own fashion creations inspired by modern trends, the strength of femininity, and individual aesthetic vision. Finalists were tasked with designing and sewing their dresses from scratch — from initial sketches to fully realized garments. A total of 21 unique designs were presented on stage and evaluated by a professional jury, which included renowned fashion designer Barbara Piekut and representatives of public institutions and the apparel industry.

Strima was proud to participate in this event as a partner supporting vocational education in the field of fashion design and garment technology. It was a pleasure to witness the remarkable potential of young creators, who demonstrated great commitment and originality in their artistic expression.

The jury’s main prize was awarded to Adam Kłoczko from Białystok (ZSTiO with Integration Departments), whose design stood out for its conceptual maturity, cohesive form, and aesthetic execution. Other awarded participants included:

  • Dominik Durda (Biłgoraj, Vocational and General Education School Complex)
  • Weronika Prusaczyk (Piotrków Trybunalski, Secondary School Complex No. 6 named after Queen Jadwiga)
  • Alan Frąckowiak (Dąbrowa Górnicza, Center for Vocational and Continuing Education)
  • Wiktoria Siedlak (Piotrków Trybunalski, Secondary School Complex No. 6 named after Queen Jadwiga)

Strima also selected its own favorite and presented the Strima Grand Prix — a special award of PLN 5,000 designated for equipping a school sewing studio with professional TEXI brand equipment. The recipient of this award was Bohdan Liubych from Biłgoraj (Vocational and General Education School Complex). In addition to a high level of aesthetic appeal, his project demonstrated impressive precision and a strong sense of form — qualities we believe are worth nurturing in future professionals of the garment industry.

The evening was further enriched by two special collection showcases: “A Woman is Changeable”, created by the youth of the Youth Cultural Center in Białystok under the guidance of Ewa Samojlik, and “The Power of Women – Military Style”, designed by Maritta Kossakowska, Beata Poźniak, Katarzyna Mańkowska, and Edyta Uss-Mazewska.

The presence of guests such as Agnieszka Krokos-Janczyło (Podlasie Education Superintendent), Beata Laskowska (Deputy Superintendent of Education in Białystok), and Tomasz Klim (Deputy Mayor of Białystok) highlighted the significance of the event and its role in promoting education through art and craftsmanship.

Strima thanks the organizers for the invitation and congratulates all participants on their courage, imagination, and talent. We believe that such initiatives not only promote young designers but also have a real impact on the quality of vocational education and the popularization of modern technological solutions in the fashion industry.
