Strima proudly supports young creators – a report from the 31st edition of the National Competition "Mała Pętelka"

National Competition

The 31st edition of the Mała Pętelka National Competition for Young Tailors and Designers, named after Małgorzata Zaręba, is behind us – an event that has been inspiring, developing, and promoting the most talented young artists in fashion and tailoring for years.

This year’s edition, held on April 10th, 2025, at the School of Clothing in Poznań, gathered participants from across Poland. Students from Bielsko-Biała, Bytom, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Gdańsk, Katowice, Łódź, Ostrów Wielkopolski, Rzeszów, Warsaw, Wrocław, Zielona Góra, and Poznań presented their unique collections. In total, 36 original fashion collections were created – each a manifestation of sensitivity, creativity, and technical skill.

The theme for this year’s fashion category was “Stitched Feelings”, while hairstyling contestants worked under the banner “Combed Feelings.” Both categories showcased a mature approach to interpreting emotion through form, color, texture, and material structure.

Strima has long been committed to supporting the development of young talents in the apparel industry and takes great pride in observing new generations of creatives entering the professional path. Once again, we had the pleasure of presenting our own special award – the Strima Grand Prix, a Texi Ballerina computerized sewing machine. This year, we awarded Zuzanna Ćwik for her expressive collection “Blutiger Rave”, which also received 2nd place in the main competition. Her work impressed us with its strong narrative, cohesive concept, and high-quality execution.

We warmly congratulate all the laureates – especially the competition winner Zhasmin Popovych, creator of the collection “Echoes of Unsaid.” We also extend our recognition to the other distinguished designers: Zuzanna Chmielnik, Zuzanna Stawska, Julia Oślizło, Yana Chabrovskaya, and Róża Kiebdój.

We believe that “Mała Pętelka” is not just a competition, but the beginning of artistic journeys that will shape the future of Polish fashion and craftsmanship. Strima is proud to support this mission – and is already looking forward to the next edition.
