On Friday, December 29, 2017, we officially handed the award to Mrs Agnieszka Rybiec, who won the "Strima Christmas Tree Decoration 2017" competition sending us two works: Kaj with Sledges and Girl with Matches.

Winner of the

The reward was a TEXI BALLERINA sewing machine, computer controlled and equipped with 200 programs, worth 1810 PLN. On behalf of the Strima company, the winner was awarded by the proxy, Joanna Waligórska.

The laureate of this year's competition is a young person, only 23 years old, small, nice, modest and undoubtedly talented. It has been collecting for a long time on its own sewing machine. She did not think she would win her in our competition. With great surprise and disbelief, she accepted the information by phone.

Ms Agnieszka Rybiec is a graduate of Art High School. Józef Chełmoński in Nałęczów where he comes from. I am studying at the 1st year of the Academy of Fine Arts Eugeniusz Gepperta in Wrocław - ceramics. Her dream is to study puppetry.

She learned about the competition from her mom who saw the ad in the Burda magazine. She decided to try her hand. The choice fell on characters that we all know: Kaj from the fairy tale "The Snow Queen" and "Girl with matches" by Hans Christian Andersen. It was supposed to be the third character, but time was pressing and it could not be finished.

This was the first work she had done for a long time. Two evenings and they were ready, though it was not that easy. First, the shapes of the face and hands were made of polymer clay, then baked in a home oven. The wire connecting the body parts was covered with a sponge, and this was still threaded. Clothes sewn by hand from what was just at hand, the remains of cloths and materials. Kaja's scarf, cap and gloves are actually part of her own gloves that are fingerless today. :) The most real hair: a brother and a girlfriend. Matches, which she held in her hand "Girl with matches" are erased from a wooden kitchen spoon, because there were no toothpicks. And finally painting your face.
The end result: small works of art :)

The award is deserved. Congratulations again. We wish Mrs. Agnieszka fulfill her dreams, develop her passions and many interesting work done on the TEXI BALLERINA machine.
