19-12-2012 Noah's Ark sailed for the victory
The fifth edition of the Christmas tree decorations contest was really emotional from the beginning. As usual we waited with great curiosity for your work. Participants, as always, did not disappoint us.
This year's concept edition was related with serious concern. First of all because we changed the formula of the contest. Decorations had to be sew with any sewing technique and had to contain the pattern. The beginning was really good. Few days after the announcement of the contest, firt decoration came. We wrongly thought it was a good sign. Days passed one by one, and still the postman walked into our company empty-handed. And when we were really in worry, you sent us a huge number of decorations. Day by day the room for storing your work was not only full, but actually it was too small for all your decorations. We didn’t expect this amount of works. At the end of the contest there were almost 150 unique ornaments and their patterns. Professionally sewed and made with great precision decorations surprised all of us. Thanks to you we could create great data base of Christmas decorations patterns . From now on, anyone who want to, can sew decorations according to instructions sent contest participants. We cordially thank you for all of your work!
It was really difficult to find only one work worth the Grand Prix. However, after counting the points, the jury found out that there is agreement between them. Grand Prix of 5th Christmas Decoration contest, organized under the theme "The Great Exchange of Christmas" goes to Mrs. Teresa Mikolajczyk for work "Noah's Ark". Mrs. Teresa work is made with extraordinary precision and it has great idea. Collected in Noah's Ark animals not only remind us of the biblical parable, but it will fit perfectly into any Christmas tree. Giraffes, leopards, lions, pigs, elephants, seals, crocodiles, hippos and zebras. All the animals have found a safety in a beautiful, sewn with linen ark. Mrs. Teresa for winning the contest receives a multifunctional sewing machine Texi Tutu.
We can not forget about works that also were pointed by the Jury. A special work is connected with Ms Katarzyna Siedlak’s decoration who performed “Pair of Angles”. Angles were create with great precision and briefly moved us to childhood memories. Angles were noticed also because of their charming hair and hand-painted shoes. Another work that caught our attention was "A Gnom family" made by Ms. Joanna Wolniewicz. This work have great attention to details. "Angels with a twist" is another work appreciated by the jury. Economical in form, but extremely clever angles, are not just Christmas Tree ornament. Their dresses are also bags, which can be filled in with a small gift.People whose work has been highlighted receive unique calendars Strima Hobby.
We are really grateful our faithful participants for taking part in the competition. This year we were surprised because of the large number of newcomers. We already begin to count down the days until our next contest.
